Follow the steps outlined on the page below. The page below is available as a handout or as a digital download.

Assignment Requirements (shooting) 25 points.

  1. Follow the steps provided on the PERFECTING THE EXPOSURE handout.
  2. You will capture a total of five (5) back-lit images
  3. Your first image will be shot without any exposure compensation at all. +/- 0
  4. Your second and third image will be shot with a +1 and a +2 exposure compensation.
  5. Your forth and fifth image will be shot with a -1 and a -2 exposure compensation.
  6. You will also need to record your exposure information for each image for inclusion in OneDrive. Exposure information includes f stop, shutter speed, ISO, and exposure comp numbers.

Assignment Requirements (blog post) 10 points.

  1. Create folder in your Onedrive folder entitled USING SHOOTING MODES
  2. UPLOAD your 5 images
  3. Place your images into your blog post with the corresponding exposure compensation information (-2, -1, 0, +1, +2.)
  4. Publish your best work.
  5. Review the USING SHOOTING MODES pages in preparation for the QUIZ

Notes for Success:

  • Use your camera partner as the model. (Remember, you are the photographer-you will uploading images of your partner to your OneDrive folder.
  • Seek an area where light is entering the building (a window or a doorway works best) These areas will have some back-light.
  • Too much intense sunlight/back-light will be nearly impossible to overcome with exposure compensation.
  • Follow the steps below
